WHAT DO JUDGES THINK?
As you might expect, not all judges, just as not all people, agree on much of anything. However, in San Diego, Central Division, North County, South County, or East County, many judges favor mediation. Mediation is an informal form of Alternative Dispute Resolution wherein the parties meet and attempt to resolve the matter short of trial.
Because Judges, again like everybody else, may have their own biases for or against either party, oftentimes the parties will request (demand) a jury trial. This way, personal biases are, in theory, lessened because there are twelve minds making decisions rather than just one.
